WHO ARE WE?
Mavs for Justice is a student-led group committed to bringing awareness and combatting injustice happening globally, especially those perpetuated by imperialism, colonialism, and systemic racism. We are against any discrimination, such as xenophobia, islamophobia, ethnocentrism, and antisemitism.
WHY DOES OUR VOICE MATTER?
Injustices in the world have existed for centuries, and they continue due to misinformation and misreporting. Be it the Civil Rights Movement, Women's Rights, or South Africa, justice and liberation are only granted through collective action, showing that these issues MATTER!
WHAT DO WE DO?
We have hosted teach-ins on campus to allow a safe space to learn more information, art builds in the park and on campus to create posters, bracelets and more, study sit-ins, protests in collaboration with other community groups, and other events like Wear Your Kufiya Week!
We plan to host many more! Please reach out to us if you would like to collaborate, or if you have ideas for an event :)

The silent genocide in the DRC (Congo) is the outcome of years of global interference in various countries of Africa. Congo suffered one of the most brutal occupations and genocides at the hands of Belgium. Over a century later, their genocide is spurred by the pillaging of resources, now funded by our tech companies.

Conflict in Sudan dates back decades, and is the consequence of colonization, meddling foreign powers, and the fueling of corrupt and oppressive regimes. The current mass displacement of Sudanese populations is facilitated by many foreign powers, who continue to fund both sides as they commit genocide.
